Shraap

श्राप · The Curse

One garland, one insult, one curse, and heaven loses everything. The story that sets the churning of the ocean in motion.

In post-production

The sage Durvasa offers Indra a garland of unfading flowers. The king of the gods lays it on the forehead of his elephant Airavata, and Airavata flings it to the ground.

The story

The insult costs Svarga everything. Durvasa's curse drains heaven of its fortune, Lakshmi departs, and the devas fall before the asuras. With nowhere left to turn, they go to Vishnu, and the churning of the ocean begins.

Told as a full Hindi film in three acts, with character voices and an original score. Every deity's form, weapons and mount follow the texts.
